'Resonate Forms' at The New Craftmaker - 26th Feb to 14th March
We are thrilled to be part of Resonant Forms, a group exhibition at The New Craftmaker in collaboration with Sarah Myerscough Gallery. This exhibition brings together sculptural works that explore composition, materiality, and texture, featuring pieces by Aneta Regel, Luke Fuller, Eleanor Lakelin, and Ash & Plumb.
At Ash & Plumb, we are continuously drawn to the intrinsic qualities of wood—its organic movement, rich textures, and evolving surface over time. Our contribution to Resonant Forms reflects this fascination, as we present a selection of seven vessels that embody our approach to form, surface treatment, and the interplay between structure and imperfection. Each piece has been meticulously turned, carved, and finished to celebrate the tactile nature of unseasoned oak, revealing the story of its grain, knots, and fissures.
The vessels we are showcasing include:
- Large Psykter IV (#04)
- Amphora I (#01)
- Psykter (#02)
- Psykter II (#10)
- Psykter III (#09)
- Telscombe II (#47)
- Amphora II (#05)
Each of these forms draws inspiration from ancient European pottery, reimagined through the lens of contemporary woodturning and carving. The Psykter and Amphora series, in particular, pay homage to classical vessel shapes, while Telscombe II is a reflection on the landscapes and weathered surfaces of our surroundings.
We are honoured to exhibit alongside artists whose work pushes the boundaries of materiality, each offering a unique perspective on texture and form. The dialogue between ceramic, wood, and other sculptural materials in Resonant Formscreates an immersive experience, inviting viewers to consider the inherent qualities of the materials that shape our world.
