Ash & Plumb is the creative partnership of Barnaby Ash and Dru Plumb, specialising in the creation of sculptural wooden vessels, referencing ancient and classical forms playfully reinvented in a contemporary and raw context. Based in the South Downs not far from Brighton, their rural workshop serves as the foundation for creating artistic works that celebrate the natural beauty of the wood through traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.
Each vessel is hand-turned and shaped from a single piece of sustainably sourced, unseasoned oak, allowing the organic characteristics of the wood to shape the final form. Their work is deeply rooted in timeless, archetypal forms that evoke a sense of grounding and ritual, each piece a celebration of both the masculine and the feminine, the light and the dark.
